Kids Summer Pool Parties
A birthday party is a great way to have fun for you and for
the kids. For moms planning a kids
summer pool party may be difficult but lets make it fun! All you need is a checklist and little guide, and you are on your way.
Invitations
The big advantage of having a kids pool parties is that it is held outside so a lot less cleaning to do. To make sure you really have less cleaning, make sure you only allow one bathroom to be used. When you invite your guests make sure you let the parents know it is a pool party so the kids and parents are aware. If there are children who do not know how to swim, get some extra life jackets from the parents. But you should have few extra adult helpers to help you with overseeing the children at all times.
The theme of the party is kids pool party, so you may want to have all invitation be made in that theme. You can get them custom made at few different online stores such as http://www.shindigz.com or http://www.invitationconsultants.com. But if you want to save the money, you can just get a package of pre-made invitations at staples.com or other office stores and print them at home your self. I personally find this to work better, but it is up to you.
Decorations
For outdoor party you really need the decorations that are going to last. Even though balloons are popular you may want to try this alternative of having inflatable toys instead of the balloons. The good thing about this is that you can reuse them as swimming pool toys later on. However if you really insist on having balloons you can fill up balloons partially with water and with air, than place them in the pool. This will keep the balloons a float, however if you want them to go to the bottom, than fill them completely with water. For decoration purposes it looks great, but the down side is that if they pop, you will have some cleaning to do.
Music and Activities
It is very important to get in tune with kids here so it goes as smooth as possible. Pick the music that majority of children love. Make sure you have enough of activities planned for them for in pool and out. Just in the case the weather does not cooperate have an alternative plan for the in door activity.
The kids being kids, we know that they get bored easily so make sure you have different activities planned. It is a water day and you may want to have a water slide included as well. They are not as expensive as most people think. Yes, the large such as some of the Bonzai and Moonwalk slides are over $100 but some such as slip and slide are only around $10. There are also some of the Banzai smaller slides around 20-40 dollars. Other activities you may want to include are the rubber duck race, which is a simple nose game, where kids push the duck from one end of the pool to the other side. You can make water bomb balloons and have a fight, but some kids may be mad, so watch out for that one. Get bunch of floating toys and dump them into the pool, than separate kids into teams and set the clock. Time them to see which team can gather the most toys in the fastest time! You can have everyone bring a water gun so they can have a real water fight. This may be a good game after the sugar kicks in so they can burn the extra energy.
Let the Neighbor know!
This is a must! This is an outdoor activity so make sure you let your neighbors know about the upcoming party. Remind them couple of times so you don’t have a mean neighbor knocking on your door!
